Colour choices you can defend

Describe what you're building and get five genuinely different directions — each with the colour relationships stated, contrast measured rather than guessed, and a preview on a real interface before you commit.

The maths is never left to a model. Every ratio is computed from WCAG 2.2 relative luminance, which is why failures are named rather than quietly rounded away.

Try:
How should it feel? (up to three)
A sentence or two about the product is enough.

How this works

Deterministic colour

Conversions, harmony, tonal ramps and every contrast ratio are computed in OKLCH and sRGB. There are 87 known-answer tests behind this, checked against published WebAIM and OKLab reference values.

Documented principles

Selection is steered by sourced ideas — Albers on context, Itten on contrast and extension, Munsell on separable dimensions — each linked from the recommendation that used it.

AI for the words only

When configured, a model interprets your brief and writes the reasoning. It never returns a hex value and never computes a ratio. Without a key the tool still works end to end.

Heritage-flavoured directions are generated from documented principles and labelled as inspired by them. No third-party palette dataset is reproduced here — the licensing position on historical collections is genuinely unsettled, and claiming a generated palette is an authentic historical combination would be untrue.
